There are many technologies and applications that can help us be more organized and productive. Keybase has several innovations that may have some bearing on how it gets used. We'd like to share with you what we like about it.
Keybase has several innovations going for it: groups, git repository, teams, and the nifty built in Stellar wallet, amongst other things.
Keybase is built with end to end encryption. If you discuss company secrets or have family conversations you would like to remain private, Keybase groups, git repository and teams can help you facilitate that.
Better than the end to end encryption though, and what may be it’s least understood value proposition, is the process that you have to go through to verify your account.
When you sign up you register the application with your device and verify your identity on the social oriented applications you use. You verify them with a cryptographically verified proof you share on the social platform. The post you make is regularly verified by Keybase so all your Keybase connections know your account and the social sites are owned by the same person. Facebook, Twitter, Github, Reddit, Hackernews or you can verify your own web site addresses.
The thing to remember is, no one here is suggesting you abandon the platforms you currently use.
