The jobs of the future will likely be very different from the jobs of today. Artificial general intelligence (AGI) and robotics will automate many of the tasks that are currently done by humans, this will create a need for new types of jobs and constrict or reduce the amount of man hours it takes to perform many jobs in the current workforce. However, just as we navigated the transtion from the hunter-gatherer to the industrial age, we will navigate the transition from the industrial age to the age of automation.
Artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and blockchain are all rapidly developing technologies that have the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. While these technologies have the potential to create new jobs and opportunities, they also have the potential to disrupt the job market and lead to widespread unemployment.
In order to mitigate the negative effects of these technologies on the job market, it is important to consider policies that would reduce work hours, tax AI, robotics, and blockchain, and distribute a Universal Basic Income (UBI) as previously described in a prior post.
AGI and robotics are capable of automating many of the tasks that are currently done by humans. This automation could lead to job losses in a variety of industries including manufacturing, transportation and customer service. In addition, AGI and robotics could make some jobs obsolete, as machines become capable of performing tasks that are currently considered to be too complex or difficult for humans.
However, it is important to note that AGI and robotics will also create new jobs. For example, there will be a need for people to develop, maintain, and repair these systems. There will also be a need for people to create new products and services that are powered by Ai, robotics and blockchain. In addition, AGI and robotics could lead to the creation of new jobs in the field of education, as people need to be trained to use these technologies.
The future of employment is uncertain, but there are some things that we can do to prepare for the potential impact of AGI and robotics on the workforce.
First, we need to invest in education and training. We need to ensure that people have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a world where AI and robotics are commonplace. Second, we need to be flexible and adaptable. We need to be willing to change our careers and learn new skills as the job market changes. Third, we need to be creative and entrepreneurial. We need to be willing to organize ourselves into cooperatives and other forms of worker-owned businesses and work collaboratively with these systems to increase the quality of life for all.
One way to address the potential for widespread unemployment due to AI, robotics, and blockchain is to reduce work hours. This would allow people to share the work that is still available, and it would also give people more time to pursue other activities, such as education, training, or leisure.
To address the potential impact to employment we can tax AI, robotics, and blockchain technologies. This would generate revenue that could be used to fund programs that would help people who are displaced by these technologies.
A UBI is a government program that would provide a regular payment to all citizens, regardless of their income or employment status. A UBI would help to ensure that everyone has a basic level of income regardless of any additional income we earn. It is important to have a thoughtful and comprehensive plan in place to ensure that everyone benefits from these technologies, and that no one is left behind.
The future of work is likely to be very different from the present. AGI and robotics will have a significant impact on the job market, but they will also create new opportunities. We need to be prepared for the changes that are coming, and we need to be willing to adapt to the new world these innovations will usher in.
